Today Raul had his first outpatient iron infusion at MGH. It took three attempts to get an IV in, and then it infiltrated after half his iron. Raul was only upset while the IV was placed though, the rest of the time he was happy playing with new trucks and watching TV. The staff were very nice, and they didn't want to make him get another IV for the other half of the iron. We will be going back in a month for another infusion. We would have had to go back even if he got all of it today, as he needs more than one dose to get him above the level of being anemic.
