Sprinkler Park

Raul loves going to the sprinkler/spray park. Last time he didn't want to get wet, but this time after playing with his trucks for a while and just getting a little wet from the water gun he decided to start pouring buckets of water all over himself! And then asking us to pour them on him too! He got completely soaked, and had a great time! The hat he is wearing was made for him by child life at the hospital yesterday while he was getting his iron infusion. He chose the colors, the type of truck, and spelled his name for them to add! Then it was time to come home for dry bandages and a nap!

Three Years!

Raul has been home three years today! Below I am linking the blog posts from him arriving in Bucharest through our first day at home, and also putting the photos from that time. For those who don't know them, the people in the first few photos are Coca and Dorel. Coca was one of Raul's primary caretakers in Romania, who we love! And Dorel is an amazing driver who we spent a lot of time with in Romania, and who drove Raul to Bucharest to meet us!

Franklin Park Zoo

Today we took the kids to the Franklin Park Zoo. It was quite hot, but we had brought the cold packs from Raul's cooling vest and put one behind him in the stroller. His favorite animals today were the prairie dogs! He said they were like excavators, because they were digging tunnels. We went to the petting zoo area, and they brought a goat out on a leash for Raul to pet since he could not go in with his stroller. They have an awesome playground, but it was way too hot for him to sit on the play equipment, so we had to tell him that we can do that next time! He also, of course, liked looking at the zoo vehicles around the zoo!

Fourth of July Week

Raul has had a busy few weeks lately. He spent one night in the hospital two weeks ago due to possible infection and severe pain in his right leg. After that admission he actually started having more fevers, so we did a course of oral antibiotics, though his skin never appeared infected. We then went to Rockport mid-week for 4th of July. Due to the pain he was having, he got a last minute MRI on Thursday, so we drove back to Boston for that. Friday night he started having symptoms due to his esophogeal stricture, so we were dealing with a lot of mucus and saliva that he could not swallow. However, he still had a good time playing with his sandbox, the hose, his cars, and going to the 4th of July fire truck parade! He has been waiting for months for this parade, and we worked hard to keep him out of the hospital so he could go! He loved it! He did spend a lot of time resting as well, since he wasn't feeling great, but overall he had a good week! This coming week he will have more procedures, including his esophogeal dilation.
