Going to Cinci

Raul has been having a lot of issues involving gagging/choking, drooling, and not being able to swallow. It is likely that he has at least one stricture in his esophogus. He also has had some upper airway issues, likely from aspirating his secretions. Because of these problems, he needs a scope with any needed dilatations in his esophogus, as well as a bronchoscopy. Due to him not being able to swallow much at all, these need to be done fairly urgently. Unfortunately, since his team here in Boston does not know very much about EB, they have not moved quickly, and we are now looking to go to Cincinnati for these procedures. Cincinnati is one of the major hubs for EB care, and they are the experts when it comes to these procedures! We are working on getting there ASAP, hopefully next week. I have talked to the doctors, and they are all committed to helping Raul, we just need to get things scheduled.

Raul's fundraiser only has five days left! I had planned on trying to cover anything not donated on my own, but now with us planning to travel to Cincinnati for medical care, we could really use the extra help! Any money not used for the testing will go towards whatever medical expenses arise in Cinci! Thank you to everyone who has shared his page and donated!
